The Appleton Technical Academy would like to place all senior students in an internship or youth apprenticeship opportunity that will combine in-school learning with learning on the job.
These employment opportunities can begin during the summer before a student’s senior year at A-Tech, during the senior year, or upon graduation from A-Tech. An Appleton Area School District job coach will provide support to both the student and employer. Students are permitted and encouraged to work during the school day.
There are several differences between an internship and a youth apprenticeship, but the key difference is that a higher level of support is required for a youth apprentice. However, in return, the student is permitted to do work that is otherwise prohibited for an intern or student under the age of 18.
